It was a sunny afternoon and I was looking for a space to work until my feet led me to this place in Maginhawa QC called The Wander Space. A few months ago, I already heard about it and the story made me feel super excited to go. In a nutshell, it’s a concept store, a coffee shop, and relaxing space for those who want to chill and work. Check out the photos below and my recent discovery of one of the best tasting Ensaymada in Manila by Pastry Armoire.
The Wander Space
Address: Unit 3B, 80 Maginhawa, Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines
Operating Hours: Open Daily from 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM except Mondays
Facebook Account: https://www.facebook.com/thewanderspace/
Contact Number: +63 917 277 1671
The place is located on the third floor of building #80 in Maginhawa Street, in front of Crazy Katsu. There’s a parking space in front and below the building.
Upon entering The Wander Space, several items and products for sale will welcome you. Most of the items they sell are not easily found in famous department stores. From clothes, bags, socks to art materials and displays, you will definitely find something that is worth buying for.
If you take a step closely to the place, you will discover the space with the sign “Wander Here”.
This is my favourite spot. People get to sit on the floor and enjoy eating / drinking coffee with friends. And I love their pillows as well!
Iced Dark Chocolate – PHP 155.00
This drink was not too sweet so I liked it a lot. It was so chocolatey and yummy!
Iced Cacao Tea – PHP 130.00
Trust me, if I say an iced tea is delicious, it is indeed delicious! Few things that I hate about some iced tea products from restaurants or cafes are: instant made (not brewed), super sweet and not worth the price. However for this one, it definitely exceeded my expectations. And yes, from the name of the iced tea , it’s made with cacao so the hint of dark chocolate is present (doesn’t mean that it should be sweet OK?). At first it might taste different but after several sips, you can’t stop yourself from asking for more. It’s a must try!
The best thing about going here at The Wander Space? Premium Ensaymada by Pastry Armoire!!! These soft and moist Filipino favourites were launched last May 2017 by the same group who introduced “Pink Wasabi” (sweet hand rolled cakes that look like sushi).
Aged Parmesan Ensaymada – PHP 85.00 per piece
Of all their products, this one caught my attention. It was served fresh and warm, made with aged parmesan and topped with creamed butter and sugar. It was sweet, but the strong flavours of the aged parmesan made it so special. They were able to retain the moisture on the inside so it was like heaven on earth to me.
Reggiano Sticky Buns – PHP 130.00 per piece
This has been the best tasting sticky bun I have ever tasted! It was so cheesy, sticky and sweet. These are all the characteristics I am looking for whenever I crave for merienda. It was so heavy and eating one piece made me feel so full and content.
Smoked Bacon Ensaymada – PHP 105.00 per piece
One of the flavours I also enjoyed was the Bacon Ensaymada. It was so savory and tasty! Surprisingly, it was not just topped with bacon but there are also bits on the inside.
You can also avail Pastry Armoire products from their comissary at Jordan Plainse Novaliches, Maximus Cafe Mandaluyong, East Cafe Rustans Makati / Mandaluyong / Cubao and My Cuppa Fix Paranaque. They also offer delivery (via Grab). Payment shall be made upon delivery (lead time of at least 3 days). Call/text them at +63 2 426 1055 or +63 947 865 8634. You can message them directly on their FB Page or IG Account: @pastryarmoire
Perfect combination: ensaymada and coffee. Maybe we can do this every week? Ha ha!
Surprisingly, they also host workshops at the cafe. Check out their Facebook page for the monthly schedule.
Feeling lucky to find these wall sockets to make sure my laptop is 100% fully charged during my stay.
…and yes, you know that we not only review the food and the interiors but also the most intimate part of the resto…
The restroom was small, but super clean and cute. We hope they keep it this way.
Definitely, The Wander Space is a unique concept that people will get to enjoy because they put three things that most people in Manila would love to do: shopping, food and coffee. The rare finds from their store were so interesting but the relaxing and homey ambiance of the cafe made it more special. The gourmet ensaymada was to die for and it will be the main reason why I will keep coming back to this place (don’t forget the Iced Cacao Tea!). Ohh Pastry Armoire, I love you so much! It feels like Christmas whenever I eat your ensaymada!
