Denny’s is a 24 hour casual family restaurant chain that originated in the United States in the 1950’s. It expanded operations mostly in North and South America, Qatar, UAE and Japan. Before the year 2016 ended, The Bistro Group opened a franchise in Uptown Mall in BGC, Philippines.
Here’s our experience…

Mostly, they serve American comfort foods: burgers, shakes, fries, steaks, pancakes and more. Moreover, they have added Filipino favorites to their customized menu like Chicken and Pork Adobo, Bangus Belly, Beef Tapa, Arroz Caldo and Tenderloin Bistek Tagalog.
The place gets very busy when diners come on lunch and dinner. Thankfully, it’s open 24 hours so we can check them out at our most convenient time.
Premium Lemonade – PHP 155.00
Their premium lemonade was one of the best that we’ve ever tasted. It’s super refreshing and not too sweet at all. The serving size is enough for those who love to upgrade their regular small drinks to big size.
Premium Oregano Lemonade – PHP 155.00
This unique lemonade blend has very tiny oregano leaves in it for a slightly pleasant bitter aftertaste and an additional hint of sweetness. We love this lemonade with a twist!
Sirloin Steak – PHP 745.00
USDA 8 oz. seasoned sirloin steak served with mashed potatoes, sauteed mixed veggies and brown gravy.
Undeniably, the meat was very tender and delicious. However, for the price of PHP 700 + I don’t think it’s a total value for money. The gravy sauce however was super good and thick. The spices made it extra special.
If you are curious on what our first bite was like, check out the Instagram video below. You will be able to notice the pink colored meat inside ‘coz it was cooked medium rare, the way it should be cooked:
Norwegian Salmon – PHP 485.00
Grilled Norwegian Salmon fillet seasoned with garlic and herbs. Served with sauteed mixed veggies and rice. This dish was very simple. As long as you love salmon, you will definitely like it even without a sauce. Also for the price, it seems to be fair and acceptable.
Chocolate Lava Cake – PHP 295.00
This was one of the best chocolatey desserts in Manila. The warm chocolate cake was big and super moist and the premium vanilla ice cream was an intense addition in order to balance the sweetness of the chocolate.
Wanna know how it looks inside the cake? Watch this:
We could’t finish our dessert so we have decided to take it out. They used this plastic microwaveable container to keep the cake clean and safe.
Their wash area was super clean. I liked this simple black mirror.
And yes, as expected, their restroom is super tidy. Definitely worth a visit!
If you love American food, visit Denny’s anytime of the day. Since some of the items tend to get very pricey, choose your meal carefully. I don’t suggest Denny’s steaks because there are more reasonably priced steaks outside, but, if you want to try it out, why not. However, we suggest that you try their salmon dishes and their Filipino inspired meals as well. Don’t miss out their super irresistible choco lava cake!
I heard that their burgers and pancakes are awesome too. Make sure to order a glass of lemonade with oregano leaves to complete your meal.
